Overview
Nagarkot is the easiest place to see the high Himalaya without trekking. The village straddles a ridge on the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, and on clear mornings the view runs from Langtang in the west to the Everest region in the far east, with Everest itself a small triangle on the horizon.
It is a one-night destination: arrive in the afternoon, watch the sunset, wake for the sunrise and walk down to Changu Narayan or back towards Bhaktapur through terraced farmland.

Good to know
- Views depend on the season: October to December and March give the clearest mornings; in May and June haze often hides the peaks entirely.
- Nights are cold from November to February; hotels are not always well heated.
